Messaggio del WFTU alla classe operaia e al popolo italiano
La Federazione Sindacale Mondiale
si rivolge alla classe operaia e al popolo italiano. Viviamo in un periodo di pandemia, dove il Coronavirus si sta diffondendo ai quattro angoli del mondo, il vostro popolo ha già pagato un prezzo pesante in vite umane.Vogliamo esprimere il nostro profondo dolore per ogni
vita persa a causa della pandemia.
Anche se la diffusione del virus sembra inevitabile, crediamo fermamente che i sindacati di classe in ogni paese del mondo debbano continuare e intensificare la loro lotta per la protezione della salute, della sicurezza e della vita della gente comune.
L'austerità imposta dall'UE negli ultimi anni, che si è tradotta in tagli economici nel settore sanitario, nella chiusura degli ospedali, nella riduzione dei posti letto e del personale sanitario, nella regionalizzazione del sistema sanitario, sono le vere fonti del problema. I governi stanno cercando di convincerci che la diffusione del coronavirus è "responsabilità personale" cercando
di nascondere le enormi lacune del sistema sanitario.
D'altra parte, i monopoli e i datori di lavoro stanno cercando di trovare nuovi modi per sfruttare le persone come lavoratori e come consumatori. I prezzi dei mezzi di protezione sono aumentati anche di oltre il 1000% in alcuni casi. I datori di lavoro si rifiutano in pratica di prendere sufficienti mezzi di protezione in molti luoghi di lavoro. Ancora una volta i governi e i datori di lavoro trattano le persone secondo le regole del "costo e del profitto".
Le nostre uniche armi sono la solidarietà, le nostre lotte comuni contro le politiche dell'UE, i governi e i padroni. Sotto questo aspetto la FSM sostiene pienamente le richieste della sua organizzazione affiliata USB in Italia, come le uniche richieste a carattere antropocentrico e filantropico. Chiediamo misure immediate di protezione sociale. Difesa dei nostri diritti lavorativi e salariali. Solo attraverso la nostra resistenza e la nostra lotta possiamo difendere i nostri diritti.

The World Federation of trade Unions addresses to the working class and people of Italy. We live in a period of Pandemic, where the Coronavirus is spreading to the four corners of the world, your people have already paid a heavy price in human lives. We want to express our deep sorrow for every life that has been lost due to the pandemic.
Even if the spreading of the virus seems unavoidable, we strongly believe that the class-oriented trade unions in every country of the world have to keep up and intensify their struggle demanding the protection of health, safety and life of the ordinary people.
The austerity imposed by the EU in recent years, which has resulted in economic cuts in the health sector, the closure of hospitals, cuts in the number of beds and healthcare staff, and the regionalisation of the health system are the real sources of the problem. The governments are trying to convince us that the spreading of the coronavirus is “personal responsibility” trying to hide the huge gaps in the health system.
On the other hand, the monopolies and the employers are trying to find new ways to exploit the people as workers and as consumers. The prices of the means of protection are raised even mare than 1000% in some cases. The employers are refusing in practice to take sufficient means of protection in many work places. One more time the governments and the employers are treating the people under the rules of “cost and profit”.
Our only weapons are solidarity, our common struggles against the policies of EU, the governments and the employers. Under this aspect the WFTU fully supports the demands of its affiliated organization USB in Italy, as the only demands with philanthropic, anthropocentric and pro-labor character. We demand immediate measures of social protection. Defense of our working and salary rights. Only through our resistance and struggle we can defend our rights.
