L’incontro organizzato il 15 febbraio a Bilbao (Bask Country) dall’Ufficio regionale Europeo EUROF WFTU sulla difesa del diritto di sciopero si è concluso positivamente e con spirito militante.

I componenti del Segretariato Europeo WFTU e i rappresentanti delle organizzazioni affiliate nello stato Spagnolo hanno discusso della situazione in atto nei vari Paesi e denunciato il tentativo in corso di limitare ulteriormente il diritto di sciopero per fronteggiare la grande ondata di scioperi che sta attraversando tutti i principali Paresi europei. Proprio a causa degli scioperi in corso i rappresentanti delle organizzazioni di Francia e Inghilterra non hanno potuto partecipare.

Tutti gli interventi hanno rappresentato la riuscita degli scioperi e delle manifestazioni che da settimane stanno riempiendo le piazze in Francia, In Inghilterra, nello Stato Spagnolo, in Italia, in Grecia, In Portogallo, a Cipro, in Austria e che proseguiranno nei prossimi giorni. A tutti i lavoratori e alle organizzazioni sindacali in lotta è andato il sostegno e gli auguri per la loro riuscita.

Il seminario si è concluso stabilendo l’organizzazione di una settimana europea di lotta in difesa del diritto di sciopero che si terrà entro la prossima primavera con scioperi e mobilitazioni in tutti i Paesi europei; l’avvio di un ciclo di assemblee da tenersi in ogni paese europeo con la partecipazione dei membri del Segretariato; l’invio di messaggi di sostegno ai lavoratori e alle organizzazioni in sciopero; l’invito ad aggiungere alle piattaforme di tutte le proclamazioni di sciopero la parola d’ordine della difesa del diritto di sciopero; il coinvolgimento delle TUI WFTU nelle mobilitazioni in difesa del diritto di sciopero.

European meeting on the right to strike concluded positively

The meeting organised on February 15th in Bilbao (Bask Country) by the European Regional Office EUROF WFTU hosted by LAB on the defence of the right to strike ended positively and in a militant spirit.

The members of the WFTU European Secretariat and representatives of the affiliated organisations in the Spanish state discussed the current situation in the various countries and denounced the ongoing attempt to further restrict the right to strike in order to cope with the great wave of strikes that is sweeping through all the major European countries. Precisely because of the ongoing strikes, the representatives of the organisations from France and England were unable to attend.

All the speakers spoke about the success of the strikes and demonstrations that have been filling the squares in France, England, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus and Austria for weeks and will continue in the coming days. To all the workers and trade union organisations in struggle went the support and best wishes for their success.

The seminar concluded by establishing the organisation of a European week of struggle in defence of the right to strike to be held by next spring with strikes and mobilisations in all European countries; the launch of a cycle of assemblies to be held in each European country with the participation of representatives from other countries; the sending of messages of support to striking workers and organisations; the invitation to add the watchword of defending the right to strike to the platforms of all strike proclamations; the involvement of TUI WFTU in mobilisations in defence of the right to strike.
