USB: by striking, you defend your right to strike

USB responds to the ban on strike: three days of mobilization from April 11, to May general strikes of public employment, school and transport.

USB general strike of 12nd April was prohibited. We responds with three days of initiatives and mobilizations from 11 to 13 April, the general strike of Public services on 10 May and the general strike of all transport on 17 May.

USB is therefore mobilized in defense of the right to strike, outraged by the commission in spite of the constitutional guarantees, and in support of the general platform of struggle that was the basis of the mobilization of April 12.

The Commission's decision to compress the right to strike is set against a backdrop of growing economic difficulties and increasingly gloomy forecasts for the next financial manoeuvre, which is already described today as "tears and blood".

A clear attempt to stifle the conflict and weaken democratic spaces at the very moment when the highest is destined to be heard the scream of those who will be affected by such manoeuvrers.

We promote the following actions:

11 April Conference in Rome on the right to strike and trade union democracy open to political forces, with labour lawyers and legal experts;

12 April day of struggle in defense of the right to strike in all cities, with demonstrations and strikes in industry, logistics, trade;
13 April national assembly of cadres and delegates USB;

10 May general strike of all workers of the Public Services and School;
17 May general strike of the Transport sector.

The articulation into distinct days of struggle cannot replace the general strike legitimately called for April 12, but it is the only possible way to counter the ban and give strength to the claims of our platform.
