USB meets Pakistani trade union

Torino -

A delegation from Usb Torino met yesterday afternoon the founder and General Secretary of the Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF) Haji Muhammad Saeed Arain, here in Torino to attend the works of the International Training Centre of the ONU agency ILO (International Labour Organization). Here the meeting between our trade union organizations took place too. USB and PLF, both affiliated with WFTU, took the chance to share information about the political situation in both Italy and Pakistan and about the rootedness of the unions in the respective countries. A USB flag and two publications by the union – one about the recent constitutional consultation, and the reasons of the “NO sociale” which has characterized USB’s position in the national landscape; and a “Proteo” journal issue about the European Union and the political and social reasons of its necessary break-up – were offered to secretary Saeed Arain. PLF’s secretary officially invited USB in Pakistan in the next spring, in order to establish a relationship of mutual collaboration inspired to internationalist solidarity. We warmly thank him, and we promise our ever more determinate involvement in the struggle for the defence of working class rights all over the world, against exploitation, war, and imperialism.
